Careers

Renfrew County is located in the heart of the Ottawa Valley in Eastern Ontario and stretches from the outskirts of Canada's Capital. The District covers an area that reaches to Deep River in the north-west, Arnprior in the east and the edges of Algonquin Park in the south.

We educate 9,400 students in 28 schools and are the third largest employer in Renfrew County.  At RCDSB, we celebrate the unique contributions of each individual. Casual Educational Support Personnel & Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Positions

To support our exceptional students and their ever-changing personal and educational needs, the Board is actively seeking individuals for our Casual Educational Support Personnel (formerly known as Educational Assistants) and ECEs experienced in working with a wide variety of exceptionalities.  If you have a community college diploma in the social services field (e.g. DSW, CYW, SSW), or an equivalent combination of education and experience (acceptable to the Board) and experience in working with special needs children we invite you to apply for the Casual Educational Support Personnel List.  For the Casual ECE list, we are seeking individuals with an ECE diploma.

Application Process Information

Internal Postings
Internal Postings are available to members of the bargaining unit (union) to which the posting applies.  Log into the Employee Staff Site to view current postings.

External Postings
If there are no qualified applicants within the bargaining unit, then job opportunities may be advertised externally. A person who meets the qualifications and is interested may then apply as directed on the posting. 

Only applicants selected for interviews will be contacted. Applications are destroyed one year following the interview process. 

Condition of Employment

Anyone offered a position with the Renfrew County District School Board will be required to complete the Pre-Employment Process for the RCDSB.  The Pre-Employment Process may include providing the RCDSB with references, a suitable Criminal Reference Check, and a job related medical note.  In all cases the required information and forms will be provided before the successful applicant will be allowed to assume their duties.  Information about these requirements will be provided at the time of any offer of employment.
