About Our School District

Residing in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) stretches all the way from Deep River in the north-west, to Arnprior in the south-east and Barry's Bay along the north-east edge of Algonquin Park.

Our schools are located in vibrant communities across the county that offer quick access to the nation's capital while supplying some of the best outdoor scenery and activities.

Here in Renfrew County we are known for our world class white-water rafting along the Ottawa River, and are the largest county in terms of area in Ontario (nearly one and a half times bigger than PEI), with a total population of nearly 111,000 people.

Here at the RCDSB we continue to adapt, evolve and innovate in order to best serve the needs of our students and inspire them to engage in an exciting future.

This requires us to empower our students with a foundation in big ideas, core skills, emerging global competencies and a positive sense of well-being.

As global citizens, our students are encouraged to be lifelong learners who will continue to achieve in order to reach their fullest potential. Learning that is “inspired” provides opportunities and experiences which are authentic, relevant, innovative and engaging.

We are responsible for the following schools:

  • 18    Elementary
  • 5      Secondary
  • 2      JK-12
  • 1      7-8
  • 1      Adult Day School

Our current total student enrolment is approximately 10,000.
