Community Use of Schools

The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) welcomes and encourages the use of school spaces outside of school hours for local community groups. The goal of the Community Use of Schools Program is to make our schools community hubs where community members can gather, volunteer, attend programs and become physically active.  The Community Use of Schools program aims to provide affordable, accessible spaces for local non-profits and other organizations in need of a space to host meetings, workshops, recreational programs, sport leagues and other events.

Policy Statement

The primary use of RCDSB schools, buildings and grounds is for the delivery of education to students. The RCDSB also encourages the use of schools as a venue for community events and activities.

School board facilities are available with an approved Community Use of Schools permit and with regard for the preservation of educational programs, the responsible management of costs associated with making school properties available and for the protection of all properties under the conditions as outlined in the Community Use of Schools regulations.
