RCDSB Online Resources

Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) students have access to the following online resources to assist them with course selections, homework, written assignments and more:

  • NEW Learn at Home - The Ministry of Education has launched the first phase of Learn at Home, a new online portal that will provide resources for families so students can continue their education while schools are closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
  • NEW Open P-TECH - Technology and jobs are changing faster than education systems. Open P-TECH helps students and educators close this gap. Open P-TECH offers you free digital learning on the tech skills of tomorrow!
  • NEW Microsoft Family Learning Center - As students shift to learning from home, parents are looking for ways to keep their kids motivated, while learning together. Microsoft has curated a collection of free activities, supporting students aged 3-12
  • NEW Scholastic Education Canada -  Scholastic Education Canada is committed to supporting parents and teachers. They’ve made their digital subscriptions (BookFlix, shared eReading, TrueFlix, ScienceFlix, & Scholastic Go!) complimentary until June 30, 2020!
  • NEW National Film Board of Canada - The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) has a vast selection of short and feature-length films. Over 4,000 free titles including animation, documentaries and educational content for kids.
  • G Suite for Education - An online environment where teachers and students can create and store digital resources to support and enhance learning and achievement.  Working with G Suite for Education allows for the sharing of these files with others for excellent collaborative opportunities.
  • On-Core - a core curriculum content platform created by McIntyre Media Inc. for use in Ontario schools. The content is 100% Canadian Produced and has been selected for its strong curriculum fit
  • eLearning Portal - provides access to eLearning and blended learning
  • Homework Help - provides math homework assistance with qualified educators in real-time for Grade 7 to 10 students
  • Learn 360 - a video streaming library with educational videos, clips, newsreels, audio files and still images aligned with provincial curriculum standards
  • Online Dictionary - word definitions, thesaurus, quotes, word games and more
  • Ontario Educational Resource Bank - more than 26,000 resources, videos and clips for students, teachers and parents to support learning from Kindergarten to Grade 12. For login information, please contact the RCDSB Digital Learning Team.
  • Turn It In - assists students with preparing written assignments using proper citation, peer editing and feedback. Teachers will inform students if they are using TurnItIn and how to create an account.
