[Pembroke, Ontario] — Champlain Discovery Public School is the winner of Bienenstock Natural
Playground’s (BNP) annual OutClassTM Outdoor Classroom Giveaway. Enriched learning, improved
physical and mental well-being, greater social and emotional development, and sparked creativity — these are just some of the benefits for Champlain Discovery Public School students and educators.

“This is a remarkable win for our students and the entire Champlain Discovery Public School community,”
says Leo Boland, Chair of the Renfrew County District School Board. “This outdoor classroom is a
powerful example of the innovative, hands-on learning we want to bring to all RCDSB schools, and we

With more than 25,000 entries since launch, the contest highlights an urgent appetite among educators
and school communities alike for a healthy, sustainable, and scalable alternative to indoor classrooms.

“This outdoor classroom will fundamentally change learning by making it more hands-on and active,” says
Tricia Robinson, the school’s Vice Principal. “Instead of just reading about nature, students can
experience it firsthand, leading to a deeper understanding. The space will also encourage a new level of
creativity and collaboration, as students work together outside of traditional classroom settings.”

“We’ve seen firsthand the benefits of learning in nature,” says John El-Raheb, CEO of BNP. “Nature
