The Role of a Student Trustee
Each year, one Student Trustee is elected to sit on the RCDSB Board of Trustees to represent the voice of approximately 9,000 students across Renfrew County. Student Trustees attend monthly Board and Committee meetings and act as a vital link between students, the Board, and our diverse school communities.
They serve as leaders within the Student Senate, working closely with student representatives from every secondary school to empower and promote student engagement and advocacy across the district.
2025 Election Results
In April of each school year RCDSB students participate in the democratic process to elect a representative to serve a two year term.
Sydney Dougherty was elected in April 2024 for the term 2024-2026. Bronwynn Dick was elected in April 2025 for the term 2025-2027.
As Sydney Dougherty prepares to graduate this June, we are now seeking a new student leader to fill her upcoming vacancy and join Bronwynn Dick in representing the student voice for the 2026-2028 school years.
