Multilingual Language Learners (MLL)

Multilingual Language Learners (MLL) describe students who are developing proficiency in the English language and whose primary language of communication is a language other than English, or a variety of English that is significantly different from that used in Ontario schools.

These students, previously referred to as English Language Learners (ELLs), receive focused support to help them succeed academically across all subjects, while simultaneously acquiring the necessary language skills.
