Indigenous Education

We would like to acknowledge that these lands are the traditional, unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin people. We also recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples who have come to call this land home.

Indigenous Education within the Renfrew Country District School Board (RCDSB) focuses on providing support for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students, and building collaborative relationships with their families and caregivers throughout their educational experiences. The Indigenous Education Team partners closely with communities and schools to create learning environments that actively support Indigenous students’ academic achievement and personal well-being.
The Indigenous Education Team strives to deepen understanding for all RCDSB students and staff by facilitating authentic learning opportunities, forming intentional collaborations, and providing meaningful, culturally rooted, and land-based experiences connected to curriculum.
